Today is July 7th, 2007 - 7/7/7. Lucky day? There are a butt-load of weddings in Las Vegas we hear, so maybe some luck will rain down on your humble servant Mikey?? ^^

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - With apologies to Clint Eastwood's Dirty Harry, this Saturday you've got to ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?"

Lots of people do, for one simple reason. Saturday will be July 7, 2007, or 7-7-07. In numerological terms, that's about as big as it gets for the superstitious.

People are booking gambling junkets, casinos are offering "7"-themed promotions, and about three times the normal number of couples plan to get married that day, including Eva Longoria and basketball player boyfriend Tony Parker.

Nearly 100 couples will tie the knot atop roller coasters or inside revolving teacups at amusement parks at 7 that morning, a California yogi plans to achieve massive harmony through gong meditation at 7 that night, and Christians will gather in a Tennessee football stadium to pray on a day that has good Biblical implications for many. I was talking on the phone with my mom a while ago, and she was telling me how today is recorded to be the most used day for weddings in history. I thought that was pretty cool. I didn't realize so many people relied on superstition like that, tee hee. I think it's cool.

Thanks for sharing these weddings! I wouldn't have had a chance to read about them if you hadn't posted them.

People are so superstitious, especially when it's a "well it can't do any harm" issue, like picking today to be married, as opposed to any other day... ^^

Wow, I heard about the wedding thing but I never knew it was the biggest wedding day in history! >_< Also the gambling and yoga things are pretty interesting. I worked all day yesterday the 7th but it was lucky for me because it was my parents 29th anniversary! Go figure huh! :-)
