Haruki Murakami's new novel, AFTER DARK out May 8th

Comments

That sounds like a good book!! I have never read his works but I may have to pick up the new novel on May 8th of course! :-)
I think that you will enjoy it. Norwegian Wood and Sputnik Sweet Heart are favorites of mine and The Wind-up Bird Chronicle is his masterpiece... perhaps your library might have those, so you can check out his style of writing (translated, of course)?

He spent a lot of time in the US, especially after Norwegian Wood was a runaway best seller in Japan - so there are a lot of American "reflections" in his work, such as his love of Jazz, etc. I've met a lot of great people through a common love for his writings...

murakami is like that unpretentious street walker who never winks at you nor bite the pouting lipsticky lips nor swings the black leather skin tight bound hips nor stoops to show the silicon cleavage...murakami knows his magic and here i am lured to him reading book after book of lascivious poetry masquerading as novels and short stories.

i am stoned.

I read After Dark this weekend. It was my first Murakami book and I guess I'm hooked because I'm reading Norwegian Wood now. =]
You write better stoned than I do straight! ^^

I'm so glad! Murakami has brought me so much enjoyment and perhaps a little insight along the way.

I always feel especially close to those that love Murakami as well... :)
