Maria from West Side Story - Jose Carreras
As The Muse's official Spanish name is Maria (beloved), here is the proper tribute: :)
I've seen people burst into tears hearing this for the first time...
TONY
(spoken)
Maria . . .
(sings)
The most beautiful sound I ever heard:
Maria, Maria, Maria, Maria . . .
All the beautiful sounds of the world in a single word . .
Maria, Maria, Maria, Maria . . .
Maria!
I've just met a girl named Maria,
And suddenly that name
Will never be the same
To me.
Maria!
I've just kissed a girl named Maria,
And suddenly I've found
How wonderful a sound
Can be!
Maria!
Say it loud and there's music playing,
Say it soft and it's almost like praying.
Maria,
I'll never stop saying Maria!
The most beautiful sound I ever heard.
Maria

I saw it when it came out again in movie theaters in the late sixties (before VHS or DVD!) and was just old enough to really appreiciate it. It really started my love of Natalie Wood too! ^^
I feel charming,
Oh, so charming
It's alarming how charming I feel!
And so pretty
That I hardly can believe I'm real.
Pretty - like Lovely Linda! :)
You've got such an ear for beautiful music. In truth, you're my muse for music.
You know, I've never seen West Side Story, but I know I should have. I'm surprised I didn't in high school, because it seemed to be a popular movie to see during that time in other peoples' lives.
I guess reading Romeo and Juliet was the closest I could get. ^___~
The movie is everywhere. I suggest you find a quiet evening, and get some hankies on hand for the tears, and enjoy. :)
btw, the Franco Zeffirelli 1968 film version of Romeo and Juliet is to die for! Get more hankies!! ^^
