Just got the latest new from my local San Diego Asian Film Foundation... They do a lot of things, besides the yearly film festival held every year in October! Check them out, especially if you live in the area...

Reel Voices: Teens Learn Video and Earn Money, Applications Due May 21 All Reel Voices documentaries premiere on the big screen at the San Diego Asian Film Festival, October 11-18, 2007. Interns are honored our star-studded festival awards gala and receive an all-access pass for the film festival. Interns also receive a $500 scholarship along with meals and possible transportation stipends to other film festivals. Applications are due May 21.
More details about both film series will be available at www.sdaff.org.
We exhibit films in the following categories: experimental, animation, music video, short documentary, feature documentary, narrative short, and narrative feature.

At least in Southern California, even Blockbuster has a pretty good selection of foreign films, these days... although I must say that most of my friend's eyes glaze over whenever they hear the term "subtitled"! ;)
Maybe you can schedule your next SOCAL appearance to match a major film festival? Ann knows LA doings...
And San Diego weather is *wonderful* in October! ^^
